Betsson has made its debut in Argentina after obtaining approval from the Buenos Aires Lottery and Casino Institute.
Betsson collaborated with Victoria Casino, a local gambling establishment, to secure licenses in Buenos Aires. In December, several other firms, including Codere Online, BPlay, and GiG, commenced operations in the region.
Although Argentina boasts a robust gambling landscape, online gambling remains relatively new.
Betsson is partnering with Victoria Casino, owned by the Matrone Group, to establish itself as a major player in the expanding online market. They are merging Betsson’s online expertise with Victoria Casino’s local insights.
Betsson’s chief executive, Pontus Lindwall, stated: “Entering the Argentine market is a significant move for us in Latin America. It strengthens Betsson’s position in the region. The license in Buenos Aires, coupled with the one in the city, demonstrates our commitment to staying here.”
South America holds significant importance for us, and we’re performing well in the area. We have ambitious plans for Argentina, Lindvall stated.
The declaration in Buenos Aires arrives as Betsson aims to solidify its presence in other South American nations. Last week, the firm was designated as the official sponsor of the Chilean football squad Colo-Colo. The company has also acquired several local brands, most recently Inkabet. Prior to that, they also secured portions of the technology firm JDP Tech and the Brazilian wagering company Suaposta.
