Penn Entertainment, a company based in Berks County, has announced the creation of a military scholarship at Penn State Berks.
The scholarship will be financed by a multi-year donation of $50,000, which the company described as a way to aid the Berks County community. The company stated that this initiative is part of their ongoing dedication to supporting veterans and those currently serving in the military.
The scholarship will be given to veterans, active-duty reservists, or National Guard members who have shown financial need. Currently, there are close to 50 student veterans enrolled at the school.
Eric Schippers, Penn’s Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, stated, “We are delighted to collaborate with Penn State Berks to establish this scholarship, which will further strengthen our support for the military and our local community.” “Penn is committed to honoring and empowering the heroes of our nation, and this scholarship will enhance our overall military recruitment and recognition efforts.”
