Both Success Group and Genting Malaysia have formally refuted claims of their participation in negotiations to establish a second casino in Forest City, Johor, as per a news report published by Malaysia’s The Star newspaper.

These refutations come in the wake of remarks made by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who labeled previous accounts of such deliberations as “falsehoods.”

Genting Malaysia released a statement asserting, “Genting Malaysia wants to unequivocally affirm that neither the company nor Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay participated in any such conversations or gatherings as alleged, and the accusations are baseless.”

Success Group lodged a police complaint concerning the allegations and disseminated a press release, also featured in The Star, further rejecting their engagement.

The press release reiterated that Success Group “has not partaken in any such dialogues with any entities connected to the reports… and disproves all the erroneous assertions…”
